Leaving - Chris Friel
When I was asked to contribute some photos to this project I felt like a complete fraud. Having spent the last 20 years making travel documentaries, I have worked in over 150 countries. So my carbon footprint is shamefully larger than most
Over this time I have witnessed and documented the effects of climate change in areas as diverse as the Artic and the Brazilian rainforest and am now of the firm conviction that something very urgently needs to be done.
My hope is that Zero Footprints will make some small contribution to that change
The last few years have seen me spend increasingly more time at home, photographing my immediate surroundings.
Having lived for 15 years on a beach in Kent, in a house where we brought up our family, we recently decided to move on.
These are the last photos I took from that house. They were all taken over the autumn of 2017 from my office balcony.
